Performance Change and Project Management - South East UK
£50k to £85k base + benefits
I have a fantastic new role with a very leading boutique management consultancy.
Our consulting client was founded with the aim of establishing a consulting business with an independence of style, thinking and approach. They worked with a wide range of clients within both public and private sectors.
Recent assignments have included the:
definition of customer value propositions
design and implementation of target business models
architecture and management of postmerger integration change programmes
design and management of efficiency / performance improvement exercises
While performance improvement is a key focus of almost all assignments, our client are not simply a cost-cutting and process focused consultancy real, lasting business performance improvement is more complex than that. For a small firm, they always punch above their weight, generally working at main board level or at least, in the largest organisations, at divisional or operational board level. It seems increasingly that they go in after one of the big firms has messed up (or at least not fixed the problem) and they help clients to sort things out and demonstratively improve the business.
Their consultants have critical curiosity, combined with an easy and confident style; they:
work on the front line and take real accountability for their role in transforming their clients businesses
combine tried and tested methods and tools with an overall approach to change that is tailored to the specific clients needs
apply common sense and first hand business experience
challenge themselves, their clients and the status quo
above all, deliver results
Our client do not work to a traditional big firm 'hierarchical' model of consulting. Projects usually involve teams of two to five consultants, with a mix of backgrounds and experience - any of whom could lead the project if needed working with client teams of varying sizes and compositions. Interestingly, they still charge clients the same fees as the big consulting firms yet their structure is very flat, they have a soft culture, team orientated yet work at an incredibly senior level within a firm which is rare for a boutique consulting firm of their size.
Our client are looking to hire Senior Consultants (4-10 years consulting experience) and Managing Consultants (8-15 years consulting experience) and one Consulting Director (excess of 15 years consulting experience).
Your background is probably varied and probably generalist in nature you will have led projects (project management) or at least significant workstreams within change programmes and you will have experience of process and organisational design. You will probably have been involved in both hard-nosed performance improvement and the softer aspects of change management. Most of all you relish the opportunity to do something different, to be part of an organisation where your contribution will be recognised from day one, where you can massively and rapidly increase your experience and further develop your skills. And where you can have a genuine influence on how the business is run.
These are fantastic roles that do not come around very often with an opportunity to work in a small firm environment where you can have much more influence in shaping the business. If you relish the opportunity to work with senior clients at a level you could only dream of in a large firm and you are confident in engaging with very senior managers but are happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in on the shop floor then this is the perfect role and organisation for you.
In order to apply for these roles, please email rakesh@consultingpoint.co.uk an updated word version CV and covering letter explaining why you believe you are a good fit for these roles.
All applications will be dealt with in Strict Confidence.
