The positions:
Consultant/Senior Consultant in a strategy consulting team
£30k - £60k estimated salary range (depending on experience) plus bonus scheme and generous benefits to include pension and healthcare.
Responsibilities
Acting as core or senior consultant in multi-disciplinary teams, delivering complex consulting assignments through full project lifecycle
Leading delivery of projects or core project modules, including, but not limited to: market reviews; business and market modeling; business planning
Leading interview programmes with senior executives from within our clients and across our sectors
Managing relationships with key clients
Presenting findings to clients at workshops and other client meetings
Line managing business analysts and other team members
Mentoring and providing training to fellow team members.
Requirements
We are looking for consultants and senior consultants who have gained experience in the following sectors (media, entertainment, telecommunications, technology) either from a major professional services firm, a boutique consultancy or a strategy team within a media company
consultants will have 2-5 years experience; senior consultants 5-7 years experience
consultants will have a proven background in managing core modules of strategy consulting projects for major clients and the potential to progress towards managing full projects in the near future. Senior consultants will have a proven background in leading consulting projects.
In addition, all candidates will have:
Outstanding economic analysis and business modelling skills
Outstanding qualitative and quantitative problem solving skills
An ability to think creatively and analytically about complex real world problems
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients in writing and face-to-face
A real passion for and knowledge about our sectors
Excellent academics, with a 1st or 2:1 degree from a top university and, potentially, further professional or academic qualifications, e.g. MBA, MiF, CFA.
Sample assignments:
A third of their projects are combined research and strategy:
Imagining the 2020 media market: forecasting growth in usage of new devices (e.g. tablet PCs, connected TVs); what that means for business and consumers
Reviewing the programme commissioning strategy of C4s education department in terms of how well have they served their audience (young people) and used their budget.
As of today, about a third of their projects are pure research, such as:
Evaluating viewer opinions of the latest series of Skins
Segmenting the UK population according to how they engage with the arts online.
A further third of their projects are pure strategy, such as:
Conducting a value for money study into the BBCs management of sports rights
Evaluating global video on demand opportunities for a major broadcaster
