PAC: Top players on the European IT services market in 2006
According to PAC this year, eleven providers are likely to exceed €2 billion of revenue (not taking into account possible captive revenue) on the European IT services market. They include five American firms - IBM, HP, EDS, Accenture, CSC, five European - Capgemini, Atos Origin, T-Systems, SBS, LogicaCMG, and one Japanese provider - Fujitsu Services.

Monetizing convergence
Our management consultancy columnist, Mick James, this week ponders where convergence in the telecom industry is going and what it means for consultants.
The recent launch of Apple’s futuristic new iPhone has me wondering whether to invest in a new phone myself. Apparently operated by the power of thought waves, it has no buttons and will play music videos and surf the internet. It makes people like me who use their phones to, er phone, look like ridiculous fuddy-duddies. The name of the game nowadays is convergence, so maybe it’s time I invested in a new device.

IBM and Norwegian Armed Forces sign $48 million contract
The Norwegian Armed Forces and IBM have signed a contract for the continued development of a Joint Integrated Management Information System for the Armed Forces, named The Economy project.
The one-year contract, valued at 300 million NOK or $48 million, includes solutions for accounting, management and logistics, based on SAP.
