What’s the role involve?
Our area of focus is banks and enabling them to bring about change which might involve delivering on large-scale improvement programs, or helping them reduce their operational risk and/or comply with regulation.
You’re going to come across the same sort of terminology you’d in any management consultancy firm such as project deliverables, works plans, risk frameworks, stakeholder management, governance etc.
However, being a consultant with SKT Consulting is a little different to what you might be used to. Our delivery approach is built around a client’s needs – there’s no rigid structure - so you might be working as part of a team on one engagement or given the chance to work more independently on another.
If you’re ready and willing, you’ll be given the opportunity to engage directly with clients with as much, or as little, supervision as is appropriate. You’ll have the chance to work autonomously and to schedule your own deliverables.
Even on a larger project, where you’ll be part of a team being led by a senior manager, you’ll have clear ownership of key project deliverables. Again, if you’re ready and willing, you’ll be given the chance to manage a team where the size of the project requires it, providing you with the opportunity to demonstrate and improve your leadership skills and ability to deliver on time and within budget.
SKT Consulting is all about giving you opportunities to grow. If you’ve got the skills and the ambition, we’ll give you the chance.
Wondering if this might be for you?
Well, if you are looking to take the next step forward in your career and have the following background and skill-sets, you might just be the type of person to whom SKT Consulting has something to offer:
- A minimum of 2 years experience of Management Consulting in financial services in London.
- A degree - at least a 2:1 - from one of the Top-30 universities.
- Experience of a programme/project/PMO delivery, focussing on the full lifecycle from early stage planning to ensuring successful implementation.
- Experience of process excellence work, focussing on things like Business Process Mapping, Gap Analysis and Target Operating Model design"
- Exceptional communications and presentation skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
What it-s going to be like
A management consultancy firm which specializes in change management for banks may sound a little ‘dry’ but don’t be fooled… our culture is based on enjoying what we do and doing it professionally.
The enthusiasm which that engenders is at the root of the very strong relationships we have built with our clients and while the work can be fast paced, the buzz we get from delivering success for our clients and being part of a successful team makes it all worthwhile!
We believe that being at work shouldn’t be a chore - if you enjoy it you’ll never have to work another day in your life - and we’re a group of like-minded colleagues all committed to being the best we can for our clients and for each other.
Our clients include some of the largest banks in the City of London but with us, your contribution won’t be overlooked and lost, which so often happens in very large firms. Instead, you can be sure your contribution will be visible, recognised and celebrated and the speed at which you progress as a result, will be down to you. No glass ceilings here!
We’re a small, but established, firm with a very clear strategy focused on an ambitious growth journey, so there’s no more exciting time to be joining us. All of our client work is within the Square Mile in the City of London. That means our consultants sleep in their own beds at night and have healthy work and life balance.
