We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented transformation professional who wants to play an important role in leading and supporting user-centred service transformation and sustainable change, within a prestigious public sector organisation.
To meet the continuing financial challenges we face over the next three years and beyond, we would like to recruit a highly skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to help develop our internal Transformation Practice - the Council’s management consultancy team – and work with the Council’s departments to redesign services.
You will be an individual that can lead service design and continuous improvement programmes and projects across all departments. Much of the change we must deliver in the future will be underpinned by digital technologies and be informed by insight, enabling us to significantly improve both customer experience and operational productivity.
You will have experience as a people manager, and as a management consultant and/or change management professional in areas such as transformation and/or operational excellence. You must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of supporting the design and delivery of measurable improvements to service quality and operational efficiency in a complex, often people-centred service environment, using systematic and industry proven methodologies such as Target Operating Model, Lean/6 Sigma and MSP. Experience of digital service design and customer insight will be very useful and desirable, but not essential.
Experience of working in local government and/or the wider public sector service economy would be highly desirable, but not essential, as private sector experience will enable us to look at our challenges from another perspective.
You will be based in Winchester, a beautiful and historic city on the edge of the South Downs National Park with a great quality of life and good travel links to London.
