Senior Business Development Manager - Learning and Development Services - Central London

£70k-£80k plus excellent bonus, benefits

Our client is a leading global learning solutions company. They work with the top financial services firms in the UK and internationally as well as clients in pharma and other highly regulated sectors. They are rapidly expanding their service offiering and developing more propietary consulting offerings. They are now looking for someone to lead the business development efforts for these new consulting services. 

 

ROLE PURPOSE:
This role will be part of a newly created lead management function within the Business Development Team. It has the following primary responsibilities:
1. - Managing the end to end lead enquiry and qualification process. This includes exploring prospect interest in a relationship with Intuition across all offerings and supporting the business development team in converting enquiries into phone consultations and proposals
2. - Working with the Marketing and Business Development teams to manage the development and delivery of campaigns and associated workflow and tools
3. - Generating new business leads and opportunities throughout the UK and continental Europe through inbound and outbound contact, managing the lead funnel to a high degree of accuracy
4. - Developing professionally written proposal and pitch material of the highest quality and content and managing the end to end bid process

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Understand the clients core product and service solutions as well as those of our key competitors
• Analyse the market and think laterally to target opportunities for global growth
• Connect and speak with senior managers across key industry sectors such as investment banks, asset management companies, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy, oil and gas with a consultative sales approach
• Responsible for setting up the new operating model for lead management including data, tools and processes
• Determine Go/No-Go criteria for enquiries and sign off/escalation authorities
• Develop and set KPIs for lead management such as conversion and qualification
• Develop sustainable automated lead reporting in the form of pipeline information and dashboards to support business decision-making
• Manage and track lead channels (web, email, phone, referrals) using CRM and other systems
• Conduct client and industry research as necessary to support client conversations
• Create prospect and client briefing packs in the form of brochures, word documents or powerpoint presentations for phone consultations and client meetings
• Develop bids and proposals for RFIs/RFPs/PQQs and other client submission documents using relevant market, industry, technical and functional content and a variety of internal and external sources
• Thorough Quality Assurance of bid process, content and output

Management of bid library, tracker and collateral
• Development of win / loss data and themes to inform business development decisions
• Prep and conduct knowledge transfer to Business Development Team including appropriate market insight
• Conduct phone and in person consultations with prospects and enable a positive client experience
• Share knowledge from leads and prospect calls with entire team to inform and iterate lead strategy
• Work in partnership with Marketing to create and validate target data sets and prospect lists for campaign distribution and analyse post-campaign feedback
• Input and manage lead information across channels and business lines to enable a ‘helicopter view’ of the lead funnel
• Analyse lead trends and metrics to re-direct Marketing efforts
• Make recommendations on process improvement and best practices that will feed into our offerings, solutions and ways of working


ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree educated, finance or related discipline is desirable.
• Understanding of education-related principles is desirable but not essential
• Desire to work in a results-driven sales role
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills are essential including good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Prior knowledge of working in a B2B sales environment
• Prior knowledge of CRM tools
• Prior experience of developing and driving sales metrics
• Strong stakeholder management
• Comfortable with data manipulation and development of dashboards and reports
• Knowledge of social selling is an advantage
• Can-do entrepreneurial attitude and self-starter mentality
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Strong interpersonal & collaborative skills
• Highly resilient and ability to deal with ambiguity
• Highly effective communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential
• Competent and professional manner, particularly in client facing situation
