Our client is a strategy adviser at board level to the media, sports and entertainment sectors. Based in Kensington, they have been an advisor to over 200 different clients on many of the major developments in the UK and European television, radio, music, publishing, digital and sports markets in the last twenty years. Their clients are the leading players in the media industry in the UK and overseas, together with other potential investors in media businesses. Their assignments vary across the strategy spectrum: high-level corporate strategy, commercial exploitation, policy and regulation, sports rights and M&A advice are just some of their typical projects. They are recognised across the media sector for their in-depth expertise and the quality of our analysis.
About the Role
The current vacancy is Senior Consultant level, where you will be responsible for delivering projects to clients. You will be exposed to a wide range of consulting assignments in all of their sectors. Their jobs are typically short and intense. will be working in a small, dynamic team, producing both analysis and output, conducting thorough and thoughtful research and managing the output of others. You will lead modules of work, being responsible for client liaison and delivery. You will take part in wider discussions that help shape the future of our clients’ businesses. You will take part in the management of the company, contributing to sales and marketing, training and operations. You will be responsible for client liaison and development. You will learn a lot and you will be part of a highly creative and cerebral environment.
You must be educated to degree level or beyond, and probably have worked in consulting or the media sector. They base all their work on sound analysis, often backed up by economic models forecasting the development of this dynamic sector, strong evidence of numeracy in your degree is important, as is some familiarity with accounting and finance. You will be comfortable with bringing quantitative analysis to bear on problems that may seem vague, and accustomed to working in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. You will want to contribute actively to discussion and brainstorming. While not a requirement, foreign language skills would be an advantage. An interest in - maybe even a passion for - the media industry is key.
