Financial & Operational Analyst - Central London with some international travel

Key responsibilities

Our client is undergoing a company wide change process and needs to strengthen the in house capability to work on identifying and delivering value from acquisitions. The Financial & Operations Analyst will support our client's drive for growth and value creation by developing synergy cases, supporting their execution and supporting the operational integration of our client's acquisitions. In addition to specific M&A activity, the role will also support business unit and functional leads in achieving operational excellence through the ongoing improvement of operational performance, customer service and quality in a cost efficient manner.

Key responsibilities:

  • M&A pre-deal; Support the identification and evaluation of potential M&A targets
    • Support development of potential synergy and value creation plans
    • Lead the financial and operational analysis required to support M&A decisions and business case submissions
  • M&A post deal; Support and project manage acquisition integration
    • Support the development of integration strategy and execution plans
    • Support the creation and execution of the their M&A integration and post deal performance improvement initiatives
    • Lead the analysis required to track progress and delivery of value
    • Develop their M&A integration and value delivery capability and tools
    • Work in cooperation with business owners responsible for the acquisition to make sure deal synergies are captured
  • Operations
    • Identify opportunities to improve current operational performance and overall operating model effectiveness
    • Identify key transformational themes impacting the media, technology and telecoms sector and airline industry that are relevant
    • Develop business cases and plans to implement operational change to drive value for the shareholders
    • Support implementation of initiatives through project management and support of key stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Priven competency in financial analysis, M&A advisory, merger integration, due diligence
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree
  • Primary experience and capability required is financial and analytical in nature, therefore a finance qualification would be a distinct advantage although not mandatory e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, CISI, MSc etc.
  • Previous experience of operational change, performance improvement and functional or team management would be an advantage

  • Knowledge of international finance and accounting concepts as they relate to M&A transactions
  • High attention to detail in analysis work as well as written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrable project management experience and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills and ability to diplomatically work with and manage key stakeholders
  • Responsible, diligent and able to work autonomously as well as part of teams that may be cross functional in nature
  • Commercial understanding of key business drivers
  • Genuine interest in and understanding of key trends in the media, entertainment, technology and telecoms markets and the airline industry
  • Ability to think strategically as well as financially and operationally
  • Ability to be flexible and live with ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment
  • Energetic, roll up the sleeves attitude
