ComTech Practice

The ComTech practice serves major clients in the technology and telecommunications space. In the technology space, we serve clients across three major business segments:  online, software and high technology manufacturers.  In the telecommunications segments we service major clients across the mobile, wireline, satellite and cable sectors. Our business consulting practice provides management consulting services to our clients with an emphasis on providing strategy and operations consulting. We provide consulting support to both the business and the IT functions.


You’ll be joining a growing team, addressing the needs of two of the most dynamic market sectors: Communications and Technology.

Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Consultant position is a critical role within our practice. The successful candidate is expected to spend most of his or her time delivering on business transformation programs to address strategic business challenges and deliver the highest quality work to our clients.  The remainder of the Senior Consultant’s time will be spent identifying and working with consulting leadership to identify and pursue business opportunities to provide value to our clients across the technology business segments. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide project leadership in understanding clients’ problems, defining and executing consulting delivery on one or more projects while maintaining a high quality level of service.Ensure quality on all deliverables.

  • Deeply understand their client’s business challenges on an ongoing basis, and provide thought leadership in addressing these issues

  • Work proactively to bring the best of Cognizant expertise to our client(s)

  • Develop and manage client relationships on project(s)

  • Facilitate project execution by providing support in project-level issue resolution and management of scope

  • Help build, lead, and develop team of onshore/offshore consultants

  • Identify and pursue up-sell opportunities

  • Contribute to business development through activities such as pre-sales client presentations, research, and writing proposal, RFP responses and SOWs

  • Have the ability to position industry insights as they pertain to client needs & requirements


Basic Requirements

  • The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in consulting, deep industry acumen and domain knowledge of one or more of the following:

    • Customer Systems - Experience in enhancing customer channel effectiveness, through focused management of IT and consultative project investment, Omni-Channel contact strategies, Customer Experience Management strategy, Contact center operational improvements, Social response effectiveness and growth strategy


  • Product innovation – combining data and analytics, new technology, with an understanding of the product development lifecycle to support product innovation across the whole lifecycle


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in business consulting, with a management and/or technology consulting firm, ideally in more than one of the following areas/roles:

    • Business analysis / business requirements

    • Process analysis / change / operating model – familiarity with process modelling tools and six sigma an advantage

    • End to end project ownership – e.g. project manager, product owner

    • Familiarity (experience) with AGILE as well as traditional lifecycle

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in client relationship roles, and pre-sales support in the Technology industry in a consulting or industry practitioner role

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of UK/European audiences

  • Ability to travel up to 50%, to locations across UK/Europe with no visa requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s level Degree required


Preferred Requirements

  • Experience building deep client relationships and identifying client's priority needs for service and support

  • Knowledge of process flows, systems and procedures which aids analysis and recommendations for solution offerings to exploit new business opportunities

  • Ability to manage teams of consultants and work with cross functional and client facing teams

  • A positive, results oriented style, evidenced by listening, motivating, delegating, influencing, and monitoring the work being done to develop the next generations of leaders

  • Experience working in an on/off-shore model

  • An extremely high level of energy, sense of urgency, creativity, and decisiveness coupled with the ability/willingness to work hard and well under pressure

  • An engaging and open interpersonal style complemented by the analytical pragmatism necessary to quickly dissect highly complex issues

  • Ability to establish immediate credibility among peers; a professional who is respected for intelligence and technical expertise

  • Master's Degree in Business/Management or equivalent highly preferred
