Responsible for project and relationship managing multiple business development projects through the sales process associated with our client from research to successful implementation, ensuring outcomes meet or exceed client expectations within commercial boundaries. 

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Management and execution of sales project plan for defined existing and prospective clients
  • Develop a strong personal understanding of customer trends and requirements in the global retail market and the strategic move to online delivery by traditional retailers and contribute to team understanding of all potential clients, client needs, and industry dynamics ensuring that data and information is up to date and relevant
  • Contribute to predicting industry trends and identifying opportunities for our clients sales both with new clients and additional sales for existing clients
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders in and in defined client organisations, ensure the smooth, high quality and timely delivery of large and complex retail technology implementation to meet or exceed stakeholder and client expectations
  • Be the lead contact for current and new client relationships as defined using listening, consultancy and selling skills to understand client needs and issues, provide possible solutions for client consideration and define a workable and realistic project plan within commercial constraints
  • Advise clients beyond immediate business issues and help them define the strategic direction for their organisation
  • Assist the client contact to make a compelling business case within their organisation to contribute to the negotiation strategy and execution to close OS deals
  • Allocate resources, including project managers, to align with the client organisation requirements, ensuring that resources are used appropriately and economically
  • Liaise with and build productive working relationships with subject matter experts across the business to facilitate successful pre and post sales activities
  • Be responsible for measuring, monitoring and reporting progress on defined projects
  • Identify issues and problems, recommending approaches to address them, testing quality of data and reconciling data across sources, and presenting facts and evidence in meetings
  • Risk management: identifying and managing risks and ensuring that their risk management frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively
  • Be responsible for multiple (between three and five) potential and live clients at varying levels of business development maturity at any one time
  • Responsible for successful transition to Account Management post implementation

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Retail or consumer consultancy background with excellent relationship management abilities and strong project management skills
  • Ability to understand client needs, build productive relationships, propose blended solutions, contribute to deal conclusion and successfully manage projects to successful implementation
  • Knowledge and experience of change management including development of comprehensive project change plans; formulating change impact assessments; developing communications and training for end users
  • Proven experience of managing large scale technology projects
  • Comfortable dealing with data, spotting issues and innovating how outcomes can be driven, tracked & reported on
  • Good understanding of commercial developments within the retail market
  • Experience of working within budgetary constraints to quality standards and targets
  • Excellent data gathering, analytical and listening skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and maintain progress
  • Collaborative team player, able to bring different skills and personalities together to present a cohesive solution to the client
  • Ideally has experience of working internationally
  • Ideally speaks other languages to the level where they can conduct business
