Retail Project Manager - London based - Central London with limited travel

£40k-£70k plus excellent bonus, shares, benefits

Our client is one of the key leaders in digital retail globally. They are developing a solutions business to commercialise their tech platform on behalf of other major retailers around the world. They have built a consulting division and this role is responsible for project managing multiple business development projects through the sales process associated with from research to successful implementation


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Project management of sales plan for defined existing and prospective clients
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders and in defined client organisations, ensure the smooth, high quality and timely delivery of large and complex retail technology implementation to meet or exceed stakeholder and client expectations
  • Liaise with and build productive working relationships with subject matter experts across the client to facilitate successful pre and post sales activities
  • Be responsible for measuring, monitoring and reporting on progress at project milestones
  • Identify issues and problems, recommending approaches to address them, testing quality of data and reconciling data across sources, and presenting facts and evidence in meetings
  • Risk management: identifying and managing risks and ensuring that risk management frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively
  • Be responsible for multiple (between three and five) potential and live clients at varying levels of business development maturity at any one time
  • Responsible for successful transition to Account Management post implementation


Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Retail or consumer consultancy background with excellent relationship management abilities and strong project management skills
  • Ability to understand client needs, build productive relationships, propose blended solutions relating to the client, contribute to deal conclusion and successfully manage projects to successful implementation
  • Knowledge and experience of change management including development of comprehensive project change plans; formulating change impact assessments; developing communications and training for end users
  • Proven experience of managing large scale technology projects
  • Comfortable dealing with data, spotting issues and innovating how outcomes can be driven, tracked & reported on
  • Good understanding of commercial developments within the retail market
  • Experience of working within budgetary constraints to quality standards and targets
  • Excellent data gathering, analytical and listening skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and maintain progress
  • Collaborative team player, able to bring different skills and personalities together to present a cohesive solution to the client
  • Ideally has experience of working internationally
  • Ideally speaks other languages to the level where they can conduct business
