Our client is a major FTSE 100 Retailer which is undergoing massive transformation across every aspect of their business. They are looking for Strategy Managers and Consultants to join them in London and support this transformation.
Supporting the Strategy Director and Senior Management in defining, framing, documenting and monitoring the execution of the company’s strategy, the Strategy Manager’s role is a highly visible one within the organisation. Serving as business liaison, internal consultant and project manager, the Strategy Manager works behind the scenes to ensure that the business strategy and multiple project work streams remain on track. This person will also act as a trouble shooter when required, solving problems and resolving issues and bottlenecks on behalf of the Strategy Director.
Together with the Strategy Director,
i) Define and frame the strategic long term plans for the business. Collect and analyse key data to corroborate the strategy and plans; structure best practice approach to deliver the plans and create the necessary framework and process to ensure timely and financial outcomes.
ii) Support the implementation of strategy projects across the business functions by sharing best practice, defining goals and monitoring results and progress of project teams. Support Project Leaders by managing projects through definition-design-delivery, market / financial / commercial / customer analytics, creating and managing plans, meeting / workshop design and facilitation, stakeholder management and supporting execution in the business.
iii) Facilitate Executive Director and Project Leader’s delivery by devising appropriate tools, objectives, goals and measures for follow up via tracking.
iv) Identify and highlight potential bottle necks and derailers, suggesting and facilitating solutions as needed.
v) Support the weekly, quarterly and annual business review schedule for the Strategy Director ensuring relevant management information is available and follow up to align with delivery of strategic plan.
- Good strategy consulting experience from a top tier strategy consulting firm, "Big 4" or specialist retail consulting firm
- Data driven and analytical capability essential across market / financial / commercial / customer analysis and modelling
- Clear and structured verbal / written communications essential
- Understanding of retail, particularly non food
- Project management and tracking across define-design-deliver
- Stakeholder management
