Hello all,I've just read that the free virtual Careers Fair is being replaced by a careers workshop, with a £49 charge. This is a real shame, as I, and surely many others, were looking forward to the event. 1. Can anyone still recommend attending the £49 careers workshop? And what are the expectations of those already signed up?2. Is the Fair being postponed or genuinely being cancelled this year due to the lack of opportunities? Many thanks.

Hi Jay. To answer your concerns about the fair(s) postponement, the level of hiring amongst client firms at present was insufficient to make our annual London careers fair (mid-October) a success and so after consultation with employers this has been put back to next September. There were similar concerns from recruiters about whether the virtual fair would just set candidates up for disappointment - and therefore tarnish the reputations of exhibitors - if attendees found the opportunities available at the fair were only a fraction of what we've been able to offer in the past. Hence this has also been postponed until next Spring. In light of the above, we were conscious that lots of readers would still want the opportunity to meet and quiz recruiters and to gauge how realistic it is that they could move into another consulting role (or out into industry or the City), but that we'd be offering no avenue by which this could be achieved. Hence the event you reference has been organised with the registration fee simply recouping the venue costs for hosting the event.Hope this helps give some context and potentially see you there.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

Thank you Tony. This makes a lot of sense. Regards, Jay.
