If you were approached to take a role in a consultancy in Dubai would you consider it considering the state of the UK market (and the oodles of money they are waving at you)?

Depends if you can (i) make the cultural adjustment and more importantly (ii) whether you have anything in life outside of work that you value very highly here in the UK?

I'd check that there is actually work for you in Dubai. The market over there has been hit really hard too.

Depends very much on the consultancy - Dubai can be interesting but can also be expensive and pretty soleless place to live. And there are many of consultancies over there, some good, some otherwise. If you fancy some Middle East exposure (not the real Middle East but it's a start) then why not, but tread carefully...I guess if it's a role you'd normally take in the UK under normal market conditions then go for it..

Dubai is pretty good. When working on process mapping assignments for my public sector clients, I prefer to stay at the Burj Al Arab hotel, http://www.jumeirah.com/en/Hotels-and-Resorts/Destinations/Dubai/Burj-Al-Arab/

I'm working with a couple of reputable firms out there - there is still growth and hiring in some sectors .....
