How difficult do people think it is to get offers in the US offices of Bain (Boston), McK (NY), BCG (Boston) as an undergraduate in the UK?If some background would help, I'm at UCL doing Economics, 1 year to go, just finished an internship at a BB IB in Equities, have exceptional grades and ECs.

I'd imagine fairly tricky.

I asked this question a few times to different recruiters of the larger consultancy strat firms. The answer was similar for all of them: if you have a compelling reason for wanting to work in that location that would make you feel more confartable (i.e. you have famuily there, or your wife has moved over there), then that's fine. Otherwise, normally noe. Do remember though that you'll always be travelling a lot, and that many offices have opportunities for swaps and stints at other offices for say 6 months. After such a stint, some people decide to inquire about opportunities and hang on.
