Would you guys choose a 60k starting position now in a quite specialised industry (say quantitative arbitrage trading) or a small firm in the alternative energy business that offers low starting salary but a good entrepreneurial career?

I hate change and I already earn more than that so I'd stay where I am, thanks very much.

£60K a year + bonuses when they return will buy you all the love you want, when you want.

Don't join a start-up unless you're really passionate about it but if you are then its hard to beat the feeling of growing a real company, especially in an industry as exciting and fast growing as alternative energy. If its the real deal then I'd do the start up, if its not then be a trader - but its not something I'd find rewarding
