You can get two cans of beans and some string, remove beans and make a hole in each can base.Insert string into hole and tie a knot, do this for both tins.Pull tins till string is tight.Party (a) Shout into tin, Party (b) listen to other tin.Reverse shout/listen as required.Job Done!

I have in mind something akin to the classical debating place of the Romans and Greeks - a "forum" if you will. However, we should update the format - we need something making use of the technological potential that surrounds us in the modern age.What a quandry?
