Is alumni of Roland Berger of any value for career options? Do employee recognize Roland Berger as valuable addition to candidate's resume? What positions senior consultants / project managers typically land after Roland Berger?

Recognition of the RB name is mainly confined to Europe and consulting circles. It's not a bad firm - not first tier except in Germany but you'll still get solid experience.

Well, I'd say they are also 1st tier in France, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Japan, China, the Netherlands, and Eastern Europe (incl. Russia). Certainly not in the UK and in the US. Also not in Latin America where they only have one office in Sao Paulo. Furthermore, they are not represented in South East Asia / Australia. However, they are growing strongly in China and Japan, also in the Middle East (Bahrein)..

Yep, I totally agree. Basically, you can say that they totally screwed up in the Anglo-American countries but are tier 1 in all Continental European and many other non-Anglo-American countries.Their European origin just makes them different from all the other strat houses who come exclusively from the US. They would never succeed in the US, Canada, India, or Australia, but they certainly do in almost all other parts of the world...In this logic, they more or less resemble all major German companies...

RB has faster / less "regulated" promotion track. Though salaries are lower than at MBBB.
