I also think this is a false rumour. Simply because I am hard pressed to find any significant benefit for Bain, because it is contrary to the way Bain has grown and operated in the past and because rumours that important might trickle down the line. Take the London Office for example - in the last year alone there has been an influx of talented partners from other strategy consulting firms. This is a controlled growth process. What the rumour is suggesting is contrary to the way we believe Bain operates.

I've had conversations with Partners from both firms over the last 2 months, and frankly got no sense of any impending sea change within either firm. Not that this would be conclusive but if this was on the cards those in the firing line would be looking seriously as exits and potential fall out for them... which so far they are not.
