Have heard it's not good at the moment - and the previous thread says F&PM is bad. What about the rest of the practice?

well, a lot of people are upset right now because they were promised promotion and not many people are getting promoted. To be honest its all a bit crap right now.

F&PM is probably worse than other parts, to be honest. It's run by an ex_IBMer who oversaw the unravelling of the Finance function in BCS, and he seems to be working his magic again at BAS...

Unfortunately, the high hopes held out for BAS have not come to much.Utilisation is low across the business, because our partners can't seem to sell a job that lasts more than 3 months.I've got my CV out with agencies at the moment, and I know most of my colleagues are trying to leave also

I agree with most of the other comments, although I stress this is not just confined to F&PM. People across the business are not happy. This is crunch time for BAS. Partners are expected to come under a lot more pressure this year, which means the rest of us will feel the pain one way or another. It is always a bad sign when every time you see colleagues the conversation quickly gets round to 'how are you feeling about things?' followed by a quick appraisal of how bad everything feels.I have seen both good times and bad in consultancy and right now this feels bad.

I am surprised at some of the comments. We have won loads of engagements in the last few months which is surprising given the time of the year and it is usually a quiet during this time.We have had a few people leave but nothing more than standard attrition and we have had 10 new joiners in the last couple of monthsWe are have ambitious growth targets for next year and this year has already gone off to a great start aready.I certainly dont agree with the gloom and doom picture thats being painted here

I have a mate that works for BAS and he has had some real ups and downs. He tried to recruit me a few months back, but I am not interested any more. Doesn't seem that appealling of a place to join at the moment.

Massive shocker ... some consultants not happy after year end review process. I expect it's probably only BAS where that happens, what with our miserable ex-IBM and ACN culture after all. Or whatever.I joined the apparently soul-destroying F&PM team in BAS about a year ago and I really don't agree with a lot of the previous posts. The majority of the team are busy and people I speak to seem pretty happy. Yeh, some people in BAS have left and no doubt some more will over the next months. Again, that must only happen to BAS right? The danger of this forum is not that anyone here bothers about it - it's an argument you can't win - but that grads will be put off applying because they don't know any better and will not apply the barrel of salt required for every BAS sucks post. So to anyone in that boat, I'd say come along to the open day or interview or assessment centre or whatever and make up your own mind but please don't take this forum as anything more than a very distorted version of the truth.

I agree with Z. It is actually really great in BAS...for some people. If you have a legacy that fits into one of the cliques, you will enjoy it and have a very prosperous career. If you don't fit in though and are looking for something different, it might not be for you. In general most people are really nice but it isn't the place for everyone.

Particularly in F&PM, you need to be in Sandy's good books, or your career will stagnate quickly.
