HiI had a 2nd round interview about 2 months ago, with a senior person and then HR. I didn't get through. The HR bit was exactly the same as any ordinary competency / skills based interview. The majority of questions were identical in both sections. The case study was about a retail operation in the UK - different locations and ongoing problems, with a certain degree of complexity, as you'd expect.5 minutes alone to read the study and then a series of questions about what you think, what you'd do, what extra info you need etc.In all, much more straightforward than I had expected.Good luck.

Thanks for that information. Sorry to hear you never got through. What level were you hoping to fit into? Im hoping to fit in the structure as an A2 (having about 18 months experience). In hindsight what do you think your down fall was? (if you dont mind me asking). I always find its hard to tell what companys look for...

No worries. I am an experienced hire with 9 years' experience, so was looking at senior manager or thereabouts.Downfall:a. They are REALLY interested in why you want to work for Acn above everyone else in the whole wide world. I assumed the "normal" level of toadying and pretence would suffice. I was wrong.b. I thought about it before I went in but then forgot! - Acn people tend to have a certain level of arrogance. I was my normal self, chatty and attempting to engage. A colleague who got a lot further than me started the interview with "don't bother employing me if you're not going to make me a senior exec within 2 years". That went down well, although it's certainly not my style.c. Very close to the above, I had the impression they wanted me to be pretty opinionated. This needs quite a lot of consistency through the whole interview.

Thanks for that. Seems like they are very particulate with who they employ. Thought they’d focus more on someone being confident, get along well with people and driven to deliver. So was there just two parts to the interview HR ordinary competency / skills based interview and case study with senior person? Did the senior person ask other questions about experience? How long were these interviews?I’m quite worried about the case study especially if you only get 5 mins 2 read it through and prepare notes for. (I’m assuming the case study was only a few paragraphs if you only get 5mins to read and digest). What do you think the most challenging part was for you? Thanks in advance for your insight into the experience.

I recently got through the exp. hire second round and to proved to be a lot less worrying than expected.* The HR interview was about previous experiences (the more recent the better).Stupid but effectives questions like: describe a difficult situation, what would you've done differently, describe a time you had to work in a team, where do you want to be in 3-5 years, why Accenture, etc.It did seem to me that some questions were based on the first round interview. It was the most intense part but very classic and structured so easy to prepare.> Lasted about 50-60 minutes + 10 minutes wait alone in the room chewing the edge of my cup of water.* The partner interview was a joke, licking ass was the main goal. I nodded a lot and agreed to anything he was saying. Really funny. No specific questions, no structure, just a global overview of where I would fit. In my case, the tricky thing was not to stay silent and wait through his long winded speech but react and mainly rephrase what he had just said. It is a tough part though, probably completely subjective.> Lasted about 45 minutes + again, 10-15 min alone in the room waiting for the third person.* The case study was appalling. Honestly, it's like reading the email of a colleague who doesn't know what to do with some problem and throw back some basic ideas to him in a sort of structured way. No need to know anything about any industry, no need to prepare.> lasted 10 minutes. It took them almost 2 weeks to come back to me and they offered the standard C1 - 40k package for my 2 years experience.Good luck.

Congrats for getting through AJ. It’s a painful process but it’s worth it when there’s results. Hope you don’t mind me asking a few more questions.. .Was the partner interview more about how he thought you’d fit into the company culture? Did he ask about you experience at all? Or any technical questions? So who was the third person that went through the case study? I’m amazed it only lasted about 10 mins (I’m assuming it wasn’t very long). Was it about a retail operation in the UK by any chance? Thanks in advance, much appreciated.
