As long as you havent jumped from one job to another every 6 months, I dont think it will have that much negative impact on your CVI think you need to be clear in your interviews as to why you are looking to get out of consulting, what you have learnt from the experience and demonstrate that you are clear as to how you want your career to shape up. You shouldnt give them the impression that you are getting out because you found it too challenging and couldnt cut it (even though it may not have been the case, that is typically the first thing that would come to mind for an interviewer)Most employers (in consulting atleast) are fairly realistic and accept that once in a while we make some wrong career choices and wont hold it against you
