I'm a recent International Business and French Graduate (1st class hons) and am passionate about pursuing a career in consultancy. I'm on a graduate scheme at the moment that is boring, slow paced and doesn't recognise ideas I have to improve the work I'm doing. My A-level results weren't fantastic due to me living abroad and having to home school myself. This is the biggest draw back that I've found to get into consultancy. No one will consider me despite me getting a high 1st degree. How can I break into the industry? Help someone please!

I'm not sure what you're hoping for here, there are no secret ways in.Keep applying, be dogged in your pursuit of feedback when you fail and keep trying again. If you have a poor academic record you may need to accept defeat at some point, but other aspects can be worked on.

A good way to get in is to get to know a few consultants at firms you want to work for. If they like you (or need the extra money they get for finding people) they might recommend you. Most firms are keen on this approach and it's definately one way to get your foot in the door.
