PA bonus time
tracy jacks
20.03.7 00:00
its that time of year again.what do PAers think of bonus? Seems like govt bonuses are pretty good considering market conditions (if down on previous few years) at 40% base salary (year end score 3)pay rises abysmal at 5% for an end of year score 3

Holy cow!!! 40% - is that across the board??!!What are these year end scores you mention?5% pay rise isn't great but with a 40% bonus who cares?? 5% is still above inflation anywayWant to know what my pay rise was? I'll give you a clue - after inflation, it works out negative. Want to know what my bonus was? I'll give you a clue - it's a nice round number (and a single digit one at that).

Zero is a Real Number, a Rational Number but not always included as a Natural Number.my bonus was the square root of f*ck all - it doesn't take a PhD in maths to work out the value of that

PA scores people 1 to 4, 1 being the lowest and says you've grossly underperformed, 2 being standard, 3 above average and 4 exceptional. The score differentials are used as multipliers on your bonus.

what are the multipliers set at?i'm assuming score of 3 doesn't mean you get 3 times the 'score 1' bonus and so on?

Beng obviously works in malawi, where the currency is the Kwacha. His 129,765k bonus translates into about £475.So fairly low then. ;)

Varies by practice, but a person with a 4 might get 2.5-3 times more than a person with a 2.

Don't be fooled by the headline bonus figure!! After employer's tax and the deferred element of the bonus (currently 20% for PCs), you don't end up with enough to compensate for the fact you get a crap basic to start with!

Well what do you guys expect ? We are not a Bain or Mckinsey. In-fact we are not even an accenture. Get to terms with the fact that either PA needs a big change or it'll be the same old average british mc with average pay and average ppl.
