A lot of people site lack of travel outwith London as a bit of a selling point for focusing on Financial Services in consulting but if you join a firm in financial services, would you still get the chance to travel abroad much? I like travel (being footloose and fancy free) but am interested in Financial Services more.

Fortunately/unfortunately financial services and capital markets activity in Europe is centred in London. Consulting work goes where the clients go so that means financial services consultants are based in the office/around the corner 90% of the time (i.e. one day out of the office per fortnight). Trips tend to be if you're doing sourcing work or if you have to visit the banks' service centres and call centres - they're not usually in very exotic locations though.

It you look at Capco or MA Partners, you'll find they both do a lot of international work, and they are exclusively focused on FS.
