Hi,I have been working in IT (media sector) for 6 years as a software developer. I have a BSc and MSc in Computing. I would like a change from IT and I want to move into consulting doing strategy or business transformation. When I apply for experienced hires they say I am too technical and don't have enough strategy experience. What is my way in? Graduate programmes? I am not so sure if I will be accepted for those either as I was told I have so many years of industry experience.I would appreciate any advise please!Sal

Have you considered some form of re-training to prove your commitement? The risk is that you're being viewed by some employers as some one with no career direction...Just my tuppence worth

Thanks Jilly for your comments. What kind of re-training could I do? Do you mean an MBA? Is there any other form of training/courses I would do that would really help?If I was to do an MBA do you think that would increase my changes? After all there are so many consultants out there who have MBA's and what would be my chances against them having no prior consulting experience?thanksSal
