Thanks Shary.I'm finishing off my MBA at a good UK bs. Do you know anyone who's hiring? Can I get interviewed through London? And what are salaries like?

I wasn't clear on whether you were looking for jobs in India, or just information on Indian firms. However, TCS (Tata) are interviewing and hiring in London currently for their expansion from India into the UK. It could be worth enquiring with them either way.I understand that, as most Indian consulting is IT/outsourcing focussed, salaries are market-led and very dependent on the specific technical skillset required for the role. Probably salaries are going to be less volatile (and higher) in the UK than in India - I have one friend currently interviewing for TCS in the UK and he has the impression that salaries offered are going to be in the lower quartile.

Shary, thanks for the info.I was wanting to get info on the Indian consulting industry so that I could then approach some firms. I don't want to join an Indian firm in the UK and want to avoid the Tata/Infosys/Wipro-type consultancies. I can appreciate that most of the consulting expertise in India is geared to outsourcing and IT, but I'd like to aim for a strategy/change transformation house. The money isn't such a big deal for me either - I just want to be a management consultant based in India!

Bolly, I have been trying to find some info on strategy houses in India, too...think I'm on the verge of giving up. I don't think there is any such thing as non-technology consultancy in that part of the world. Maybe the likes of you and I can introduce it there :-)

Good Idea Guys. This what I am thinking of as well. I will be finishing my MBA soon and looking for some management consultancy experience. Later on I have plans to returns to India to open my own consultancy firm and take it from there. It will be nice if a group is formed and start this opportunity together.
