Hi. I just had an interview with ALCIMED at the Cologne office. When we arrived, they had forgotten the projector, and not enough chairs for the candidates, because the other company sharing the office happened to be having a meeting. They only reimbursed half the travel costs, but didn't tell us beforehand. The disorganization says a lot about the company. I wouldn't go there.

Please take two minutes out of your day to view their website. The flash intro is pretty amusing.

HiAnybody had anymore experience with the company? Their website is a bit too much trying to be cool. I went to the group interview and there was a good vibe. Although they didn't mention anything about the travel costs reimbursement, which is weird. I'm thinking whether I should write them and ask. I found some discussion on a French forum about the company. I don't understand much of French but from what I got, they were mostly bad things written. Any thoughts on that?

Anyone have any recent info on Alcimed? They seem to be growing quite impressively, hiring tens of people each year and opening up new offices in the UK and the US. They also seem to be doing alot of work for EU agencies.

Blegh....this company...attended their group interview in Cambridge over a yeag ago. They told us that they were opening an office in London in the next few months and that they were looking for people. Fine. Got invited to the next interview in Paris. Their head office in Paris is a complete joke. The lights were out on the hallway, so when I stepped out of the elevator I had to try and find a light switch by touch (it was pitch-black). Unusual. The office itself was outdated and old. During the interview, it was then revealed that they were not certain at all if they were going to the UK - options were Cambridge, London, Manchester etc etc. They were very specifically interested in how much I was willing to accept as pay at these different cities in the UK. Basically, they had no clear-cut plans at all, and were simply testing the market. I was then presented by some completely incredualous growth plans up to 30-50% a year.....right.....ow, and I would to work from Paris the first year....detail....After that, it went completely silent...nothing...(also no re-imbursement of travelling costs to Paris...). I decided to start pestering them about my travel re-imbursement, and after 3 attempts, a clearly very annoyed french secretary informed me that she was going to send a cheque (which they did). Not once, not even when I talked with that secretary was I informed about the outcome of the interview (not that I cared anymore at that point). I could not warn you enough about this company. Just find a real company, with a real office, and some sensible ideas about their future plans.....

I actually worked for this "company" for a time and I would certainly advise anyone who is being sucked into their big plans to take it all with a pinch of salt. I was recruited under the pretence of working in one of there new offices which turned out to be a complete non-runner after my move to Paris for initial training. They paid my salary late (up to 3 weeks) for half of the time I spent there with no subsidies available, it was quite difficult for me. They will have you working 12hour shifts very quickly, and to be honest alot of the work they produce is riddled with genuine lies. They are a WANNABE consultancy company who want to look professional on the outside, however, as you mentioned, even a short visit to their offices wil show clearly that they are not investing too much in their staff or offices. Computers very old etc... If you want any further ijnformation please do not hesitate to contact me!! I made a serious mistake working them!

Hi MacRua. Thanks for your message. What about the wages at Alcimed? I heard it's less than the other consulting companies, but how is it?

Hey MacRua. Could you be a bit more specific? You were hired to work for their future London office? For how long did you work for them? How did you find the people working in the company, dissatisfied as well?

Dear MacRua, As far as I understood the company is still a start-up (no matter the date of founding) which explains the lack of money and organization etc. Apparently for you it was not good enough which also depends on your background, experience and availability of other choices.Do you think it would work though as a stepping stone for someone without work experience in consulting? (academic experience only)Could it be helpful for getting to learn the business?

Hi anno,Did you get a job with Alcimed in the end? It seems this company is a startup, has it improved much and expanded much since you posted in 2012?

They are a bunch of unprofessional incompetent and lying people who will treat you like a subservient drone and make you work 12 hours a day with low salary and force you to take no pay leave just because the managers want to go on a holiday. they are hiring loads because the turn over rate is really high. beware of this company.
