Just received an offer to join them and before I bite the bullet and sign up , any insiders or 'in the know' bods with perspectives that I should consider? I am sold on the role but is there anything about the company or current circs that is not public knowledge that may be important to a potential joiner ?

I'm on the inside - I think you will like it. Work is variable and you will get to do quite a few interesting projects. It's small, does some excellent consulting and friendly.

Thanks. What do you mean when you say the work is variable ? Do you mean crap and reasonable at various times or did you mean that in a positive way - i.e. there is lots of variety.

GT2I have my final round coming up and am interested to find out the expectations of those assessing on the day - what types of things are they looking for? Advice appreciated as I am very keen on this company and feel a good fit between my skills and its current requirements. Thanks

I went through the final round presentation and have the offer so this may be useful.it was all fairly free flowing - I was asked to prepare a presentation and went through it but it was essentially a discussion around the presentation rather than me talking for a while. They seemed to be after problem solving approach, level of detail in the thought process, general business acument and presentation and conversational skills and 'presence'. At least that was the feedback I got. If you're already in consulting just treat it as a normal client prsentation but do highliht a problem solving framework and make sure you have lots of detail in your approach.Hope this helps.

I am close to accepting :)The biggest thing that has stood out for me so far has been the fact that no one I have met or spoken to inside or outside has anything bad to say about this outfit. Seem like a remarkably friendly place free of disgruntled employees and the like. This is unusual for consulting firms and could be due to the fact that they have a relatively short history and are small. My interview experiences were pleasant and intellectually stimulating without being overly formal and rigid in any way. The people I met were reasonably heavyweight and impressive without being stuffy.Only negative I guess is the brand association with Serco but in all other respects this seems to be a fairly premium consulting outfit. As I said, I am likely to join.

TPL,was this a standard powerpoint presentation? when you talk about detail, are you referring to academic content or perhaps detail of practical experiences? I may be interviewing with them soon so please help.

I used Powerpoint although they don't really care if you just use paper. They look at content not format but obviously it is better to showcase your consulting skills by using all the tools you can.By detail I mean specific points in the way you tackle the problem - avoid speaking in generalities which can be easy given the open ended nature of the brief. Clearly define the problem, outline clear steps in the problem solving processes and lay out bullet points. What I tried to convey was that I had thought through this indetail, would apply the same rigour to a client situation and would feel confident defending it in front of a questioning audience.
