I don't think it is but, read down the page and tell me how many answers to questions are just snipes or plain insults. What's the point of this forum if people answer questions with snide remarks?I'll expect some to this.........

Get real. It's so easy to spot grads on this forum by the way they write. Totally inexperienced and clueless. Some people I work with in a big 4 don't even have degrees and are earning bucks. It's all about experience newbie, get that? *Experience*...You also get elitist bozos here too. And before you say it yes, I do have a 2-1 from a top 20.

Fantastic comment Pirlo. Just what we need, some arrogant idiot who thinks he's better than others because he got a better degree result than others. Fact is, after a few years experience, it really doesn't matter. There is no real substitution for real life experience. I've come across a few 1st class oxbridge guys (and only a few, since the majority are top notch) who were a load of muppets and quite frankly didn't square up with those other consultants who you would look down upon. Best consultant who ever worked for me got a 2.2 and he is now a real high flyer in a top consultancy and will probably make partner in the next 3 years. So please keep your useless comments to yourself.

Unbelievable

I cannot believe the above comments re degrees and graduates are written by what I assume are experienced 'non grads'! The egos and totally unconstructive help from the above is quite exposing of the characters that detailed their opinions in such a manner and reminds me of a guy at an interview once who happened to attend Harrow and managed to drop it into every sentence he could-brilliant! The veil of the internet really is quite revealing-if only we knew who these people actually were....!I'd prefer a much more stringent vetting process top getting replies on here-it might be more controlling but you post to get answers, not to wade through the rubbish of an unfounded ego trip about a degree from a top 20 university!

I find this forum to be a reflection of prevailing moods in the real world....Frustration and simmering anger would best describe it...! Suppresion of the excellent in favour of mindless executors is causing a silent business revolution driven by, thus far, passive mutineers...Youth in despair has always been the wellspring of unrest...nothing to lose...

I sometimes refer to this forum for advice but after reviewing it a number of times i find myself wondering whether this is an industry i want to work in. I am coming from research in big pharma and am used to working with fiercely intellectual academic types and was hoping that part of the transition to consulting would be to meet interesting, well travelled, grounded people. Unfortunatley this forum portrays you as anything but, and not academic either. I would ask Tony whether, as moderator, there is something that could be done as it would genuinely be a useful source of information for potential entrants to this career if it weren't for the people who abuse it.

Tony,There seem to be many people abusing this forum to "slag" of each other. Would it be possible for someone to approve messages before they are posted. This would ensure only messages which are appropriate are posted. for example, someone calling another "A fool" shouldnt get through.Cheers,

Thanks for the posting. We do review the forum every couple of hours to check on what's been posted. Anything that is slanderous, racist, etc. is cleaned off. The "my University is better than yours" stuff is just too petty for us to spend time deleting.I agree though that the quantity of unhelpful postings has risen in recent weeks, will post a notice to readers about this now...Tony
