Hi, plans to spend this year in the Alps as a ski guide following my graduation have nose dived after i got sent home to have surgery on an ankle broken just after Christmas. As such i am unable to return to my job in France and have no job. Whilst temp work is a viable option in the short term, i really wish to gain an advantage on fellow graduates by obtaining some relevant work experience in the consultancy filed, which will aid my graduate program applications. Does anybody know of any specialist consultancy recruitment companies or any other routes into short term (6 - 8 months max) work experience placements. As i have already graduated, i am not eligible for summer placements with the large firms. It would be a shame to waste the rest of this year by sitting in a local office making cups of team and enduring endless hours of data entry as is the case with most jobs obtained through local generalized temping agencies. I really want to use this time to gain an advantage in the profession. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks

I had the same problem last year after deciding audit was too unbearable to make a career out of!Speak to fresh minds-they might be able to help you out although you have pass criteria to be selected as a mind and then enter tehir bank to get placed on a project. Otherwise search for full time roles with as much consultancy related key skills-project management, project support roles, government stuff if that is your thing.I managed to get a contract at RBS and another with the NHS and have secured a grad role with a big player to start soon so it is possible. The more proactive you are, the better your chances, treat job and expereince seaching like a job adn put in teh hours on the phone and be prepared to travel and something will come up.Good luck

Morning Tony, I sent you a copy of my CV last night. Thanks for taking an interest in my cause!! However i forgot to say where i am based. I live in Southampton but am on the main commuter line to London and The West so could reach either of these places with ease on a daily basis. Many thanks
