Hello all,I am wondering if anyone can come up with some suggestions as to how to progress to the next stage of my career. Having just completed the MBA, I am finding that my previous 6 years of being a self-employed IT contractor (Business Objects & Informatica) is being held against me as I have not been employed as a Project Manager per se. Hi SophiaI am kind of in the same boat. I am a chemical engineer and do have MBA from one of the top schools in Canada. I have done independent consulting and wish to pursue it but my engineering work is held against me for not offering a job in consulting. I don't know how to break this vicious circle but I am assuming this may be a condition in Canada, being a smaller market. I am planning to move to the UK and try look for opportunities. I hope the situation is a bit different there. What's your take?Vik

Hi Vik, good to hear from you...Sorry it's taken a while to respond... I have no idea about engineers within the UK but I cannot envisage a problem for a qualified and experienced engineer in the UK...How have you researched the UK market so far?Sophia
