Hey Guys, thinking of applying to Amdocs. I was wondering what is your view on this company? It specialises in CRM consulting services and SI, but only the Amdocs product predominately. Would this mean if I worked there i would build consulting skills but be kicking myself in the foot because i would really only learn about the amdocs product - which as i can see isnt prevalent in the market?Your views on this would be great!

I spent a long time on a UK Clarify CRM implementation working for a leading consultancy. I did the 2-week Core Clarify Consultant training in Reading with Amdocs and worked closely with Amdocs consultants. They were all really good guys and knew their stuff (and the product is fairly nifty), however I get the impression it is just that little bit too niche. I personally wouldn't want to build a career around a product like that.

As a recruitment agent myself, it is always handy to know where candidates are interviewing, not just so we can approach those companies ourselves. As I'm sure you know, certain firms can be notoriously slow in feeding back on CV's & it tends to speed things up a little bit if they know a candidate is interviewing with their competitors. It can also sometimes swing things in your favour. If you're interviewing with a number of good companies, particularly if you're at second or third stage, it gives your CV that extra bit of backing.

Thanks for your reply. I also feel that...but also attracted to the fact they are niche...seems like a company eager to grow. If I did get employed by Amdocs and became a consultant would the experience of managaing CRM implemntations and being client facing even though its Amdocs be useful? Or would the product hinde me?
