Yes there are ways in.Have you considered what your ambitions are in more detail though? A typical interview question is along the lines of 'Where do you see yourself in 5 years?'Also what current skills do you have to achieve these ambitions? What examples can you provide to market yourself? In other words, how can you convince people to allow you to realise these ambitions? Have you also thought about the ways to achieve them in more detail? If it is with your current employer then you should think carefully about how you are going to approach them and what you want to ask. If it is with another employer then you will need to allow yourself adequate time to prepare. You should avoid selling yourself short. 'Spend lots of time teaching people stuff' could mean anything. It is a good consulting skill to have, but nobody is going to buy that at fair value. Reword it and provide compelling examples of the results that this has delivered. Do the same for other skills that are relevant to your future employer. You would be better off reading a career guide(s) which might well cover these and other points more diplomatically than me (careful who sees you reading it though of course!). What channels to market are you going to pursue (word of mouth, via agent, direct etc.)? Also look at salary surveys so you can get a gauge on what is fair value in terms of pay.Good luck!
