I have worked in internal consultancy in local government and the police for 8 years, moving up through the grades to now earn £35k as a “principal consultant” in the team.I wonder if 2006 is the year I should jump ship and move to a private sector consultancy to get wider public (and private) sector experience, a greater variety of work and of course more money.I live between Manchester, Derby and Nottingham and don’t want to move to London. Can anyone recommend a consultancy firm in them Midlands or Manchester who operates in the public sector? Are there any recruitment agencies in the Midlands who anyone could recommend?Has anyone moved from the public sector to a consultancy firm who can offer advice?ThanksR
