Mmmmmmmm......I'm familiar with them. You may or maynot have read some of my posts on here before, I was recently interviewed for a post with PCubed. This consisted of 3 seperate interviews (phone, presentation with Q&A and a formal face to face) with the request that I attended a 4th.The final interview was discussed twice and eventually rescinded as it transpired that there was no role available in the first place. Quite irratating and a valuable lesson, be sure that if you apply there is a post applicable to your field of expertise. However, as a firm, they seem to know their stuff (I was quite disappointed) and as they are currently in their infancy it could be a good place to develop as the firm develops.Hope this is of some help.

Had the same experience as "were-rabbit". it is well known that sometimes recruitment ads are used for marketing purposes. could be that in my case, so better be careful rather than wasting your time. BUT, if you want to meet some new nice people, they are!

Pretty much sums it up me thinks!Go for it, but ask the right questions up front so you're under the right impression from the off.

Thanks both for this. I did wonder what actual roles there were, as the advertisement seems to pop up and disappear at various intervals. Was it project management that you were both particularly interested in? I'm looking for something similar but finding it difficult to find in its purest form... I have about 2 years experience in CMS and Publishing PM but want to break out into much larger scale projects in a faster paced environment. Any suggestions (how long is a piece of string)?

It was Programme Management that I am interested in, however I have 5 years Automotive Engineeering and Prg management work behind me and the best chance of a shift to consultant work is to consult in your specialist field i.e. I'm not sure that too many firms would consider an applicant changing both discipline and environment is the safest option for them. PCubed deal in this kind of business so, for me, it seemed a fairly logical step. However, it sounds like they generally treat their candidates a bit shabbily so you may want to question how they would treat their staff.Another firm I looked at is PIPC although they're not listed on here, they are quite a small US based firm who specialised in PM work so maybe they are worth a look for you.It also appears that many "pure" PM firms looks for people with PRINCE2 quals, although just a question of training, it's seems to be a requisit in most places. Hope this is of some help.

That's great thanks. I'm currently working towards my PMI cert. and have recently pm'd a DTI government project, but yes, I'm not sure whether most would take a gamble. Obviously, I'll be applying junior end or even graduate schemes (although I'm 5.5 years out of uni!)

That said, maybe you should consider Pcubed.Their largest growth is within central government, the DTI project would bolster your application. You've got over 5 years experience after uni and a DTI project (assuming full cycle), I don't think you need to undersell yourself, having the PMI cert will show the prof development they'll be looking for too. What other firms have you looked at?

To be honest, I've just looked at sites like this for positions that catch my eye and match my experience. Project Management is definitely where I want to go, so the PA position would suit me well.I have friends at Accenture who have pointed me towards all the well known names.
