Hi I'm considering applying for one of the BT consulting roles advertised on the Top-Consultant career opportunities page, for consultants with 3-8 years of experience (in change or business transformation). The job descriptions say 'UK Wide' - where, if I were to join BT, would my 'home office' be? Likewise, the careers / recruitment site that the adverts point to is at BT Global services - does this mean that most or all of the client engagements for this role will be outside the UK? Also - any ideas of the salary levels for senior consultants (with 3-4 years of experience at a big-4 consultancy) at BT?Any info would be helpful.ThanksBenjy

So no London base at all for their operations? Any ideas how much travel to these three (delightful) locations would be required, and how much time proportionally I could expect to spend on client site? Thanks again...B

From faint knowledge of someone who works for them, I think they operate out of Newgate St, without actually being based there. I could be wrong though. What's wrong with Leeds or Newcastle anyway? Your comment implies ignorance of both cities in both senses of the word.

I spent 6 months in Newcastle and 4 months in Leeds on large public sector projects and would rather maximise my chances of not being on long-term client site assignments outside of London.I guess they are a no-go for applications then...

Don't get hung up about location. The base is nominal, though you may be required to appear in Fleet during the early days. With the move into "big" BT, consultants have a lot of bases to work from. As with all consultancies you can't guarantee where the client work will be, but BT currently has a lot of consultants employed on the NHS work in London, if that's where you want to be. By the way, they also have a base in Edinburgh.
