I am considering a career change to product development and am looking for some advice please? The type of product development I have in mind would be, for example, the advice or assistance given to the inventor of a widget to develop and bring their product to market. Or it could be undertaken on behalf of a VC firm who have bought into a product but now need someone to refine the product and take it to market.Could you please suggest any people or companies that I could talk to about this field? More specifically I am looking to find out about the day to day of the role and what skills are required to be successful. Also, what are the possible routes into such a career?My background is that I am 36 with a business degree (Bachelor of Business Science from the University of Cape Town), I am an admitted attorney and have been working for 10 years as an interest rate derivative trader for a top tier investment bank in Tokyo and London.Thanks in advance for any advice.
