Hi I've just received an offer from Ernst & Young to work in their advisory practice. Although it sounds really exciting - startup in a big brand - I am looking for some help with understanding why I should choose this over a larger full-service (like CG or Accenture) or a strategy/niche. Also what are PWC and KPMG allowed to do as I don't think their non-competes are up yet! So would it be a risk to accept a job with either of them instead? Please help!

Which bit of TAS ? Have a look at the E&Y postings on www.www2wk.com, and you'll see that female employees, in particular, have a hard time with this accounting firm / "wanna be consultancy"

Thanks for the posting - its not TAS but AS. I got the impression that TAS do M&A work but AS (Advisory Services) is the new consulting group. The way it was explained to me is that EY are going to Business Improvement, Programme Turnaround etc. work. TAS is more related to M&A finance etc. Thanks for the link - is it particularly worse for women at EY or is it typical for merger firms and consultants in general? I think you are right that there are a lot of wanna-be consulting initiatives kicking off there now due to the non-compete being over.
