Visiting this site is a good starting point! Unfortunately not all the messages are very 'meaninful' even if others are a little more meaningful. However you could consider:- How you are going to market yourself? Who are you going to target (pharma specialists, consultants in pharma and other sectors and so on)? What do you have to offer (a 2i from a good university, industry experience, and so on)? How are you going to show in your CV/interview that you have and can increase your consulting skills as well (examples of solving problems over and above pushing the buttons your line-manager demanded)? Find out the type of skills they are looking for and expand these sections. Communication skills are almost always requested even in research consulting. Which channels will you market yourself through? (direct to consultancies, via agencies, through your own network, other routes)- Do as much research as you can on this, whilst it still feels meaningful to you. Find an authoritative source for consultancies (this site, the MCA, etc. ) and start visiting websites to find out more about the industry and consultancies that would be attracted by your skills.- Start communicating with people, get people you trust from work, university and/or recruitment experts to read your CV. What are their views? If it is positive criticism then reword your CV if you can improve it, but don't be afraid to ignore unhelpful or irrelevant advice. Apply -> prepare for interviews (again keep asking questions so you interview to the best of your ability) -> interview and accept the best offer !If what you say is true then I would hope that you will find that this is a real career possibility for you. Why can't more people help this person? You look like just the sort of person the UK consulting industry would be mad to lose! Good luck and if any of that helps then I'm glad I wrote it.
