Hi there, I know when it comes to management level and above strategy practices may differ from firm to firm etc. But what about at grad level? With the pure strat firms aside, how different will working in strategy be at ACN, PA, CG, DELOITTE. Is it much of a muchness or much more? How much different can training be? projects etc. Is not the work of an analyst essentially the same at these firms, along with the training? Or am i mistaken? would really appreciate help esp from recruitgal, tony, cheggars, and recruitboy if hes still posting.

I'm not a grad recruiter, so I'm not best suited to comment. As far as I'm aware, PA, CG and Deloitte don't really have significant 'pure' strategy capability. ACN does, but the group doesn't have a great rep (and there is some debate about whether it is an effective launchpad into the pure strat firms).

Thanks for that RecruitGal. Perhaps I should rephrase the question. Is there much difference in terms of training, reputation, type of work etc btw the strategy arms/capabilities of these firms? Im not keen on the pure strat firms, but do like the idea of working for a full house firm for a variety of reasons I wont get into now.

I think in short, the answer is yes. There are differences between these firms in the areas you have mentioned. I think you need to find out what these differences are for yourself and determine what YOU are looking for in a firm.I believe you would be blind to take up an offer under the false impression that all of these full-service firms are essentially the same at the entry-level.Hope this helps.
