I am currently working for IBM, and was approached by a colleague to join Amicus. Is this the best union within IBM, or would I be better off joining one of the others ? I firmly believe in the democratic right of staff to join a labour organisation, and particularly working for the Beast, it really is vital to have the support of a union behind you. Before anyone asks, I am deeply proud to work for IBM, but feel that BCS’s management cannot be trusted to act in the best interests of staff or clients, which is why so many people are leaving. I’d rather stay, but feel that I need the protection of a union.
