Hi, I'd be grateful for your thoughts on my current situation.I've got both grad and post-grad qualifications and 10 years IT experience - 90% of which has been on customer sites, mostly in telecoms and utilities.I'm very comfortable dealing directly with clients, and working independently. My career has progressed from programming into a much more business oriented role - solution design, managing problem resolution, technology strategy, etc.Ideally I'd like to continue down that path and focus even more on the business aspects of the job, but presently I can't seem to find any roles that suit me.As I have a young family, I want to remain based in the central belt of Scotland - though business related travel would not be a problem.Scanning the various job sites, and email alerts, there just don't seem to be many business/technology roles in Scotland. My question is, do these jobs actually exist? Am I looking in the wrong places? If so, what's the right place to look?Or, is it just the case that to find a really interesting role, basing oneself in the south of England is the only option?
