Hi there, I just want to know if anyone has, or has heard of people that have moved from consulting to investment banking, either after an MBA or otherwise. What do most people do when they leave consulting, other than go into industry?

Yes I have met someone that did make this move.

It feels like it happened more in the past than it has done recently (which could be just due to market conditions), but I've seen people move into both equity research and corporate finance this year, so it can definitely be done. (Whether you'd want to, of course, is a different matter... the cultures are typically very different.)

Can you be more specific about the different cultures? I know both are tough, demanding and intellectually challenging. I thought the cultures would be similar, although an investment banking one likely to be more aggressive and clearly more profit driven?!
