Nollag,You seem to have good insight into the UK practice, having been in EMEA for 6 years.I am interested in learning what the UK pay ranges are for Bands 8 and 9. In a previous post, I noticed you said Band 8 would be approximately 60k-70k. Would Band 9 then be about 70k-80k? Or more? I have 10+ years experience in FS and an MBA.If an offer was made and I was to negotiate, what expectation should I have for the initial offer? Dose suggested 85% of market value. Does this mean I should automatically strive for an additional 10-15%? Also, - Which points (besides running away) would you advise focusing on in order to secure the best deal? - Which items in the package are worthless and which are most valuable? What should I “concede” to get that extra 10-15% base pay?- Does the UK offer a signing bonus/”Living in London” expense as many other firms in London do?- Is the medical plan worth paying for? Dental seems worthwhile. Or not?- Is the T&E policy negotiable? Is it based on IBM policy or client policy? Say you are working on client site in another city outside of the UK (Europe or Asia), do you get IBM accommodation or client accommodation?- If your client is further from home than your base office, do you get reimbursed for the extra travel distance and cost?I would imagine given the mass exodus of late, that BCS would be focused on rebuilding its practice and trying to do the right thing for new hires (optimistic) to ensure the firm remains competitive with Accenture and its other competitors. Thanks for the insight and help.
