Reputation is founded on research and strong in that regard in several industry verticals (most senior board member set up Thomson Research). They get quoted quite a lot in reputable business media. Consulting reputation is non-existent or very recent. Company culture is really US-International (in that order!). The ‘President’ in the UK seemed to be a reasonable guy on the few occasions I met him, a bit disorganised, but not a pushover. Only visited a few times and culture seemed hardworking but quite friendly overall, although one person was insulting for no apparent reason (which was a bit weird!). Training - you could ask tactfully if it is a must-have for you, but much of it might be training through experience. Prepare how you are going to negotiate salary in advance, and make sure you deliver a short well reasoned salary request. I doubt you will find big firm style salary grades there, but you could find a decent survey and politely mention market rates for the type of role you are interviewing for. Not being a well established UK consulting player is not necessarily a bad thing, it could be a real opportunity. On the other hand they might stay comparatively unknown in consulting and you should consider that possibility too. It depended what you are looking for and obviously you should use your interview as your best indicator. GL
