hi, "consultant guys", I have discovered this forum few days ago and I think it is great in terms of sharing experiencies and learning through them! ... however it seems nobody paid attention to my message, why is that? it would be interesting to get feedback even if it is negative. Thanks!

Hi. I've had a quick squint at your message and to be very honest I'm not clued up on this clinical psychology field area and i would also assume that most of the other consultants are in the same boat however I'm sure there are some people out there with the relevant exposure and experience! Maybe this is why you haven't been getting any responses?? I do have one suggestion though - Try getting into a HR consulting role as that may help you alot more than the MA.... Hope this helps.

Just read your message, and like the prior reply I'm not really aware of what Clinical Psychology is. You also don't mention what form of consultancy you want to pursue, deciding to be a consultant is a huge scope (after all, you can consult on anything). So I think that would be a good step, to focus on which direction to follow.

Hi VA. I am not a consultant, but also wish to merge into consulting, so i am limited on my advise. I work for the NHS. Your understanding of psychology could be important to a marketing firm as marketing is all about understanding the needs, wants and desires of the customer. Different from consulting but also along the same lines is performance coaching. You understand what makes people 'tick', why they do what they do, and how their current behaviour effects their current and future performance. Their is a market out their for coaching top notch CEO's, executives, and entreprenuirs etc. Check it out. It may be just up your ally. If not, maybe getting some business qualifications, like a MBA with a major in marketing or HR will help. Just remember consulting houses do want full time graduates from the top business schools so choose carefully. Hope this helps a little.

VA,I'm a psychologist and i know many who work in the area of change delivering behaviour change alongside transformation projects in big IT consultancies and also in niche consultancies doing exec development, culture change etc. Have a look at www.theabp.org and go to their member links for some of these niche players for a starter.

Hey! thank you all guys, I got now a variety of feedbacks! It is really helpful! I hope I can help you all in the future somehow. For the ones who didn't have clear what is the clinical psychologist field, fair enough I have no clue about consultancy as you could see. Clinical Psychology is (to put it briefly) connected with providing psychological treatment to individuals who are going through difficult times or who have serious psychological difficulties, it can be individually or in a group bases. Thanks again!

Yes coaching is an option that I thought about as well, the thing is that I m not sure how to get into in, I don't even know where to apply. By the way you said you are working for the NHS, doing what if you don't mind asking, and you want to merge in consilting as well, merge in to what sector? thanks a lot for your feedback! see you around.
