If you are 'based' at the ACN office in Manchester (SAP practice) - does this mean the chances of working in London are reduced & conversely you work with clients outside the M25? I left London 2 years ago and the cost of moving back is a big factor.

Nope, if anything your chances are greatly increased! I was Manchester based for 5 years and saw the insides of Kingsley Hall about 5 times. All for appraisials and my exit interview! Shame, since it is a nice office. Although it may be a different story now, since ACN have a number of large engagements in the North (e.g. NHS)

Oh pants! Now I'm really stuck. The problem for me is where to live/buy flat etc that will work in my favour so as to be able to get to client sites with (relative) ease. I believed that being based in Manchester would equate with less chance of London assignments - but I guess you go where needed. Hmmm - may just locate myself in the Midlands (not Coventry :-)...should be able to go wherever from there.
