Hi all,I am wondering what the BIG differences between ACN´s and Deloitte´s culture, salary, personal career and work are?Any Information would be highly appreciated.cheers!

Hi consultant, Im a graduate and have been interviewed by both and decided to opt for another firm (PA). But the following is from what ive heard and experienced. CULTURE: Deloitte wins ands down. Much more friendly, polite and relaxed although still very proffessional. Accenture culture is very automated, dry and bland. SALARY: At graduate level and at consultant level ACN pay more than deloitte. Not much more, or enough in my opinion to make you choose it over deloitte. Although i have heard tat at Partner level those at Deloitte earn more than those at ACN. Personal career, for consultants (s&o) grads do the cima or are trained in the cima at deloitte, this is not the case at ACN. Though all consultans ive spoken to say ACN is the best place to start for a graduate. I dont agree. Yes i dont work there, but one can get stuck on a dull project for a length of time and not developing different skills. Overall as a grad id probably go Deloitte, as a consultant with 5-7 years id rather be at ACN, if ever to make partner it would be Deloitte. Only my opinion tho.

Hi Anon, thanks for your thoughts. Isn´t it right that the long projects where consultants have to work more than years for one client is more or less just in the field of business system integration and not in Business Consulting. These kind of projects should be much shorter. How are your experiences with PA in contrary to ACN and Deloitte. cheers

Hi there consultant. As i said im a post grad student. I havent actually started at PA yet by as its my first job in consultancy, i did extensive research on all the companies i looked into including the two i mentioned earlier. In terms of CULTURE, from what ive heard and in particular the people i met during the numerous rounds of interviews at all the firms PA was by far the friendliest and relaxed yet still professional. Deloitte was good too. ACN wasnt great. The company is so large that it doesnt have the same team orientated/family feeling. In fact the two people who spoke to the candidates and my final round their had never ever met each other! SALARY: This is a tough one really. ACN does pay the best i believe, Deloitte isnt too bad either. PA is different. As you'll see on the website, their base salary is slightly lower but bonuses tend to be far far higher so, if your good your more than likely to earn more than at their compeitiors. WORK: from my view ACN is a hit or miss depending on what project you get stuck on. Deloitte again i think it depends on what line of consulting your into. PA ive heard do a great deal of public sector work. This was a concern for me at first but i think they are making significant strides in gainind private sector work. I think along with Deloitte you'll prob have a greater variety of projects and experience. They dont hire as many people as ACN too, tho quality of employees is very high. Also PA is owned by the workers themselves which is great. As i said, id go with PA or Deloitte but thats just my opinion. Im sure there are people at ACN that would beg to differ and talk about better pay and great projects - Yes this occurs but if you read this forum extensively you will find they are in the minority!!!! BTW i think you can also get long projects in Business Consulting, maybe not as common as in systems integration but still possible. I guess it all boils down to key criteria for you to make your choice. The financial rewards btw them differ by so little i wouldnt make this your first point of any decision. For me if it wasnt PA it would have been Deloitte. Id be interested to hear responses and opinions from other people perhaps working at all 3 firms or who have moved from one to another. Hi,I've worked for both ACN and Deloitte extensively. Deloitte is allot more 'cosy' however, the quality of work, pay, training and where ACN is on the consulting evolution curve put it at the top ! A recent statistic...... 18 of 32 new hires at ACN earlier this year where from Deloitte !
