I work at Atos and have plenty of good things to say about the company. The team you mention sit in the consulting business but outside the core structure. They are a good bunch of people, working on some fascinating projects, with very close ties to DfID. We don't see much of them, as they spend a lot of time travelling. I'm not familiar with the marketplace for this particular sector, but I'd say it is certainly worth your while to submit an application and meet with them.
